System Engineers (DevOps / Software Developers)
Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Job Summary:
Working within the Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) space, you’re required to collaborate and integrate daily with the Users Activity Monitoring (UAM) and SAP Community, e.g., US Army Independent Monitoring and Analysis Team (IMAT), US Army Cyber (ARCYBER), and the DoD CIO SAP Mission Partners, to translate Cyber Needs requirements (CNR) into virtual systems, applications, and software capabilities, on secure infrastructures. Provides functional and empirical technical analysis related to design, software development, and implementation of software, application, and systems, including, but not limited to application software & hardware testing, DevOps, and diagnostic staging environments. Participates in development of multiple testing strategies, devices, and systems analysis. Have the technical and virtual Cloud computing background and skillsets to perform in all phases of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) process for systems integrations, software design, capabilities insertion, analytics, artificial intelligents (AI), & machine learning (ML) development, and design documentation. Ability to design, develop, and test new AI and existing analytical requirements with advanced networking and open-source techniques on premise and Cloud environments. Provides system and software engineering expert advice and act as a technical resource on complex sized application, software, and system projects, e.g., virtual Cloud Computing recommendations and Cyberspace design tools.
Requires minimal supervision for on time delivery of projects. Participate in daily Agile team collaboration as a key member of the SAP Cyberspace Technical Engineering Team. As technologies advances continue to be innovatively flexible and find new ways to support the rapid fluidity of DoD’s and US Army UAM/SAP Cyber Mission and Operations.
  
Job Responsibilities
  • Expert knowledge of core VMware, Red Hat Linux, and Open-Source concepts relating to systems, functionalities, and application development.
  • Work closely with US Army CIO/G6 SAP, ARCYBER, and the User Communities. To support DoD & US Army SAP missions requirement needs and provide technical capabilities in direct response to changing and evolving threats.
  • Engineer new required capabilities tailored to specific mission urgent needs.
  • Integrate Open-Source applications and solutions designated for global, regional, and local iMAT’s.
  • Design UAM/SAP Cloud-base architectures that challenges evolving cybersecurity threats.
  • Integrate hardware, software, and application COTS, GOTS, and Open-Source solutions on virtual secure baselines environments.  
  • Enable scalable, elastic, and flexible responsive changes on deployable software, applications, and hardware installs, driven by threat landscapes and technological innovation.
  • Build database systems, Cloud & network infrastructures, test/DevOps, and staging environments, on multiple secure enclaves.
  • Collaborate within Agile teams, to forge stronger Agile Train Team environments.
  • Resolve any errors that arise within a baseline system. Determining the cause, testing functionality, mitigating a solution, and apply preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity teams to ensure Open-Sources products, software, applications, and hardware are compliant IAW DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework, AR 25-2 Information Security, and NIST SP 800-37.
  • Defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets developmental tests for new and/or modified application, software, and product components.
  • Investigates and resolves DoD’s and US Army UAM/SAP Cyber Mission Forces (CMF-s) technical and engineering issues, concerns, and problems in conjunction with other Cyberspace Unified Platform engineering and technical personnel.

Job Skills & Qualifications
Required
  • TS and/or SCI availability Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge and experiences - Linux-Rad Hat, VMware, Cloud Computing, or related technologies.
  • Coding Languages - Bash, Python, C++, r-shiny, Ruby or related similar software languages
  • Certifications - CEH, AWS, Red Hat, Oracle, CCNP, CCNA, CISSP, CASP, Security + or equivalent related certifications
  • Superior written and spoken communication abilities
  • Minimum of 10 years of System Engineering experiences or related engineering experiences. 
  • Ability to travel 25% annually
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
Preferred
  • DoD or US Army related Networks and System Engineering experiences.
  • Virtual Cloud Computing  and Infrastructures development or related experiences.
  • DEVOPS: docker, bitbucket, github, vault, jenkins, subversion, JIRA, confluence
  • AWS or Microsoft-Cloud Computing working experiences.
  • Cybersecurity Engineering experiences
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), sprints, scrums, or related certified experiences.
  • Technical experience working w/ Joint Capabilities Integration Development Systems Information Technology Box process
  •        Technologies: Oracle, MySQL, Hadoop, Accumulo, Protocols, Cisco, VLANs, Juniper or related technologies.
